Since 1975 IT Leaders have turned to their peers at The IMF to get real, actionable information without vendor bias or sales spin. Now, that knowledge is available in an offering that is targeted to the IT Security Professional. This membership will allow you and your team access to this tremendous knowledge base without leaving your desk and giving you numerous opportunities to qualify for continuing education credits.
IMF Security Community Members enjoy unrestricted, enterprise-wide access to:
IMF Executive Security Council – The Council holds monthly meetings of the IMF Security community that take peer to peer information exchange to a new level. The councils are an opportunity for the same members to build strong relationships with one another as they work to solve the common issues in their particular community of practice. IMF Executive Councils are monthly discussions (sometimes web forums on member requested security related topics) and occasional face to face meetings facilitated by IMF and the Council Executives.
Industry Leader Reports - We have published more than 1,000 reports detailing actual member experiences through strategic planning, implementation and project plans for building and running the world’s finest IT organizations. Some case studies and candid observations are unlike any others you will find. These are not corporate marketing pieces – they are the real experiences of your peers, in their own words. Included in this service is an annual Benchmark Summary Report.
IMF Web Forums allow members to share ideas, learn best practices, and build professional networks without the need for travel. IMF Web Forums are extremely interactive, and cover the major functional areas in IT including Security.
IMF Security Benchmarking - In September, The IT Security Forum was held at Abbott Labs. The Forum included a very highly rated session on: Benchmark Your Security–Where Are Your Opportunities? During this session, IMF members discussed the compilation of the Security Comparison Metrics Survey which we had previously sent to members of the Security Community. The Benchmark was also discussed, along with an additional update to the metrics, at the November meeting of the Security Council. IT Security Members will be able to review the results of the 2008 Study and will be included in the community for future updates of the Security Benchmark.
IMF Security Forum - Each year IMF holds a face to face Forum for the Security Community. This one and one-half day meeting is typically held at a member site and includes six to eight presentations, panel discussions and benchmark presentations on various topics in the Security Space. Speakers include CISO’s from our member companies as well as top notch outside speakers on special topics in the IT Security industry.
Continuing Education Credits -
IMF has partnered with (ISC)2, an organization our members tell us is a recognized Gold Standard for certifying Information Security professionals. Now, IMF’s Security Executive Councils, Security Web Conferences and Forums can be used to obtain credits toward Continuing Professional Education (CPE) points needed to ensure certification remains in good standing.
Credits can be earned for the following certifications: SSCP, CAP, CISSP, ISSAP, ISSEP, and ISSMP.
