IT Infrastructure at Lorillard Tobacco

This Web Forum will address the changes and successes Lorillard has made in its IT Infrastructure within the last couple of years. They will address improvements in IT Support Requirements, Perimeter Security/IDS, Network Devices, Switches, Firewalls, to name a few.

Luke Shepherd is Lorillard Tobacco Company’s Project Leader for IT Voice and Data Communications. He is responsible for supplying technology and direction to meet the network and communication needs throughout the company with 300+ Cisco devices on site and multiple WAN connections and phone switches. Luke has 22 years service at Lorillard, with the first 18 being a Senior Staff Engineer on the Project Engineering Staff. In this capacity, he supported manufacturing process control systems; VAX software and hardware with related DECnet networks; data center design and operation; Cisco networks and associated copper and fiber LANs; and WAN connectivity utilizing various telecommunication providers. He is a graduate of N C State University and a native of Davidson County, NC. |

Harold Moore is the Manager, Server & Desktop Technology for Lorillard Tobacco Company. He is responsible for Windows systems across 1800+ desktop users, and 400+ Windows servers located in two data centers. Harold has 37 years service at Lorillard, with over 30 of these being in several IT positions. Harold is a graduate of John Wesley College and an active member of the North Carolina Security User Group (NCSUG) and the Storage Technology Online Community (STorTOC). |
