Dave Sanek, PMP, Group Vice President is a project manager, PMO leader, teacher and mentor. He currently leads the SunTrust Corporate PMO Competency Center team, whose mission is to provide nearly 500 SunTrust project practitioners with leadership and training in the practice areas of project management and requirements management . The CPMO Competency Center promotes SunTrust project management best practice standards and methodologies in order to advance competency and proficiency in project delivery to support a multi-billion dollar project portfolio.

Dave has spent over 35 years in leadership training and project management arenas, first in the US Army, retiring in 1991, and later in both public and private industry. He has led a variety of programs and projects ranging from state-wide initiatives for New Jersey, Oregon, Maryland and Georgia to global initiatives including the original Hallmark Gold Card program as well as marketing motivation and loyalty programs for IBM, Prudential, and Northwest Airlines.

Dave holds Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA and has done post-masters study at Catholic University and the University of Maryland.
