The IMF will hold this year's Forum on IT Innovation in Atlanta, GA at the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center. The event will take place Thursday June 7th and Friday June 8th.

This particular case study includes ways to cut costs while increasing your capacity to scale for growth and innovation.
Innovation in Cyber-Security Threat Avoidance

The U.S. Senate has recently re-competed their Cyber-Security Services contract. This enabled them to update their Statement of Work in order to reflect the current environment and threats. It also provided great insight into how the market for these services has changed since 2007. Principal Information Security Services Specialist John Holmblad will discuss the lessons they have learned, and continue to learn, during this endeavor.

Investigators have an ever-growing suite of tools available for analyzing and understanding their data. While techniques such as statistical analysis, database queries, machine learning, and data mining all have benefits, John Stasko will explain how visualization can add much needed benefit to the mix. Visualization brings capabilities for exploring data when one does not know which questions to initially ask. In this discussion, he will describe why visualization is so powerful, how it helps people in data analysis, and provide some provocative examples of visualization techniques and systems.

Some companies have even piloted internal social tools designed to help their employees "socialize." Unfortunately, many struggle when using these social network platforms (SNP) to get "real work" done through enterprise-wide collaboration. Carlos Bermudez, Director of Projects and Usability for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), is going to present on his experiences in this area. He will focus on the business case for a work-enabling SNP, the social-enabled collaborative work approach, and lessons learned in the space.
