Preparing IT HR Processes for a New Environment
Mon Oct 4, 2004 - Mon Oct 4, 2004
Changing business needs, worker expectations, and technologies create new roles for IT HR and make it necessary to develop new approaches to traditional HR processes. Cost pressures throughout the business fuel the search for more efficient ways of delivering HR services, which often results in a move to centralized shared services organizations or outsourcing. Workers increasingly expect greater flexibility in how they work and more control over their career development. Fortunately, technology advances make it possible for HR to deliver on many of these expectations through robust employee self-service and greater flexibility and transparency of HR processes.
At this meeting, participants shared their experiences and discuss the challenges associated with transforming traditional HR processes to meet the needs of today's businesses. Among the topics of conversation -
- HR self-service via the portal
- New approaches to traditional HR processes
- Training and development
- Performance management
