How to Manage the Outsourcer Invoice
Chubb has significant experience with an Outsourcer for most of their IT infrastructure, and Phil Folz will provide an overview of how they manage the outsourcer invoice and containing their outsourcing spending. Outsourcer invoices have become infamous for being confusing and filled with misdirection, and Phil will discuss the steps Chubb has taken to simplify the invoice and ensure validity.

During this presentation, UPS will discuss the approach that has been taken within their organization. They will cover their general methodology for charging, how they align IT chargeback with IT and business goals, and the challenges they have come across along the journey.

Networks change more than any other area in IT, and it is difficult to be knowledgeable if you are not working in the network field. Mike Chaney will give an unpartisan approach to the latest trends and technologies in the networks. Mike will also discuss where networks are moving in the next year or two. A glossary of common network terms will be provided at the end of the presentation to help you negotiate and follow what is being presented when it is time for a network update.

ELA’s and Software Maintenance
Dan Elvera will facilitate an open discussion in an effort to take some of the mystery out of managing ELAs and software maintenance. We will cover the steps that companies are currently taking to better understand their ELA spend, if anything can be done to reduce costs, and if anyone has found room for changes to agreements for improved management. We’ll also discuss the concept of license and maintenance contract renegotiation, and whether or not companies have experienced any leverage in renegotiating.
