Practices in IT Financial Management - Making Sense of the Dollars and Cents
Thu Jul 18, 2002 - Thu Jul 18, 2002
Over the years, IT executives have employed many approaches to managing the significant
investment that the IT organization represents in an effort to elicit the right business decisions for
the corporation. However, most companies have found this to be a challenging exercise, with no
single, absolute answer. Some innovative financial methods are currently being utilized to
manage the IT investment. What are the business implications, including benefits and
drawbacks, of these methods? What are the circumstances under which these new approaches
work best?
In response to a request from several CIOs, IMF has created a working session for senior IT and
financial executives to explore these issues and share experiences and potential solutions to
these challenges. Brief presentations from Harris Corporation, Hewitt Associates and SunTrust
Bank will serve as catalysts for this highly interactive session.
